Rules and Conditions 

Class of 2018

General Conditions 

Eligibility 

  1. Be a grade 12 athlete in 2018

  2. No application needed athletes will be entered automatically 

  3. Be competing in Level 4 or level 5 (or Level 3 see scoring subsection 3) 

  4. Qualify for the 2018 BC High-School Gymnastics Championships in their respected levels 

  5. Students must graduate from high school in the tournament year.

  6. Must be present to receive award on March 10, 2018 (Unless discussed and excused with The Gymnast Alumni Bursary of British Columbia Committee prior to the competition )

Scoring 

  1. Each event and the all around will be ranked on level five and level four Final score results. (This means that a high scoring level four competitor could place ahead of a lower scoring level five competitor.)

  2. Final Score = Start Value - Execution Deductions  

  3. If there are insufficient participants in levels four or five, then the level three event competitors will be ranked separately and slotted in below the successful level four and five competitors.

Girls Level 4-5
(or Level 3 see scoring subsection 3)
  • In the all around finals the bursary's will extend to fourth and fifth place 

  • Level 3: a gymnast with previous experience training beyond a recreational level. Also, athletes competing provincially in JO Level 5 or 6 must compete Level 3 High school or higher

  • Level 4: any gymnast who is competing at JO Level 7, or has competed in CPP Level 3 since September 1st, 2016.

  • Level 5: any gymnast who is competing at JO Level 8/9, or has competed in CPP Level 4/5 since September 1st, 2016.

Boys Level 4-5
(or Level 3 see scoring subsection 3)

  • Level 3: a gymnast who has competed in Level 3 in BCSSGA Championship. a gymnast who is ready to compete Level 3 skills (as determined by the coach)

  • Level 4: a gymnast who is training at CPP Level 3 with GBC. a gymnast who has stopped competing and training at CPP Level 3 since to September 1st, 2016 a gymnast who is ready to compete Level 4 skills (as determined by the coach)

  • Level 5: a gymnast who has competed or trained at a GBC CPP Level 4, CPP Level 5, National Open, Junior, or Senior since September 1st, 2016 a gymnast who is ready to compete Level 5 skills (as determined by the coach)
