The Gymnast Alumni Bursary of British Columbia was founded by Will Erichson a former gymnast in North Vancouver. He was introduced to the sport in his second year at Windsor Secondary School by Nicky Carroll, where he found a life long passion. After graduation, Erichson started coaching full-time at numerous clubs, judging competitions, as well as competed under another great coach, Vali Stan, at Flicka Gymnastics. As his competitive career came to an end his next ambition was starting to flourish, working in film and television. His career in front of the camera has lead him to be the stunt double on many films and television shows. Most notably as one of Ryan Reynolds doubles on Deadpool and doing stunts as the hooded hero The Green Arrow on CW's Arrow. "...because of this sport [Gymnastics] I have achieved many dreams. I've had the privilege of studying under many mentors and obtaining life long friends, all from just swinging on a high bar. It gave me direction and drive in my life, to the point of I can honestly say I owe this sport everything." This is why it is time to give back and hopefully inspire those who are on their own journey with in the sport. All the hours in the gym, all the blood on the bars, all the sweat on the floor deserves to be acknowledged and rewarded to those who have show great discipline. The BC High-School Gymnastics Championship has always resonated for Will. Not only competing, judging and still coaching at said competition but it seemed the perfect platform to encourage club athletes to compete for their school colors. For that reason Will Erichson and E-Stunts Performance ltd. are proud to bring theses bursary's to the graduating class of 2018, as well as a $20,000.00 a year commitment until 2023.
